What We Say About...
Drugs "Drugs are bad, those who do drugs soon become addicted to them and worsen all the problems they are trying to forget. They get into serious personal, social and financial troubles. People with low self-esteem have higher possibility of taking drugs, and so do teens, because of friends influence. Drugs are dangerous because they end up to connect to violent crime, murders, robbery and money laundry." David Valério, nr
"People have different reasons to take drugs. Some of them do it because they have problems they can’t deal with, such as broken families or unemployment. They do it out of despair, to forget about troubles. And there are those who have low self-confidence and self-esteem, and do it to feel better about themselves, to feel they belong. Finally, there are also well-known rich people, known as celebrities, who do it out of stupidity, or lack of proper goals." João Cunha, nr
"Many people take drugs because they have personal problems and they want to forget about them for a while. Others have lack of self-confidence and self-esteem. And there are also others, such as celebrities, who become rich and famous overnight and use drugs to deal with their loss of privacy and intimacy."
Pedro Ferreira, nr 18
"People take drugs for many different reasons. Young people take them because it is cool, it is a peer thing, because they want to pretend they are older and they want to grow up fast. They want to do what grown-ups do, even the stupidest things some adults do. Adults take drugs to forget about problems such as unemployment. Celebrities do it because... they are celebrities."
